Welcome to Downie Central Public School. We are located on a spacious ten-acre parcel of land in the Downie Ward of the Township of Perth South, halfway between Stratford and St. Marys. Our student population is comprised of students from kindergarten through grade eight.

At Downie, our goal is to provide quality and engaging academic experiences for all students. We embrace, honour and support individual student differences. Our aim is to build on strengths, create and maintain a safe place to learn and to develop positive citizenship and increased student responsibility and independence.

Downie students are encouraged to participate in the various aspects of our school. We offer a variety of sports and clubs, and all students are encouraged to try out for teams and participate in areas in which they are interested. We offer cross-country, volleyball, basketball, track and field and several intramural sports. In addition, school staff have organized several clubs, The Downie Leadership Club, The Art Club, The Music Club and The Gardening Club, to name a few. Getting involved in our school community will enhance the educational experience!

Over the years, Downie Central Public School has established wonderful relationships and connections within the community with organizations such as the Downie Optimist Club and the Home and School Council. This continued support is always greatly appreciated.

At Downie Central, we are very proud of our school, our students and the great people who work, volunteer and are involved in any way in our school community. I thank everyone for their dedication and support as we continue to build and enhance our positive, inclusive learning environment at Downie Central.
